River Oaks Shetlands is Ravished by Fire
My good friend Becky of River Oaks Shetlands had a very tough week. After a very long hot day at the Pine City Arts Festival she and her husband Stan came home to find out their entire hay crop as well as the pole barn they stored it in went up in flames. Becky and her family have put a lot of work into their new land. They planted many many trees and have now lost them all. If this wasn't bad enough, Stan's mother passed away this week after a long illness. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Utecht family.
The Minnesota Shetland Sheep Breeders Organization is holding a fundraiser for the Utechts. We are hoping to raise funds to purchase enough hay to get them through the winter. If every one who reads this were to donate $3.00 for one bale of hay, we'll reach our goal in no time!

Now you will know why I haven't been posting regularly on my blog!
This is where we come into the 20 acres:
This is my Mom's farm:
This is the only clump of trees I can use for shade. I've started fencing it in so I can bring the sheep over to graze. We'll use our electronets and rotate them around the pen.
I think this would make a great spot for the house! We're thinking a walkout rambler with the back facing the south. The pond you see is on the neighbor's land. He has it stocked with trout!
